This website helps students at Sample Public Schools prepare for student council elections. It displays pages of information about candidates, including profile pages on which candidates explain their qualifications for the offices they seek, and endorsement pages on which students may explain why their preferred candidates should be elected.

The purpose of this website is to help students practice good civic participation skills. Informed participation is essential for making all forms of government, including student government, accountable. Only accountable government can ensure that public policies will reflect broad public interests... your interests!

QuickStart Instructions

To get started, select the election using the My Application selector in the left panel. Then press the Browse button to view lists of candidates and endorsement providers for the current application. You can return to this page at any time by selecting the HOME link above.

Next, select an item (candidate or provider) from one of the lists to view information about that item. On the next page, one more click of a table entry will bring you to a candidate endorsement record. Options are provided in the left-side panel on most pages for navigating current lists of candidtes, providers, or endorsements. The options make it easier for you to find the information you need.

You can view candidate endorsements in two ways. If you want to view all of the endorsements for a given candidate, select a candidate from the list of candidates displayed after you press the Browse button. If you want to view all of the endorsements prepared by a given endorsement provider, select the provider from the list of providers displayed after you press the Browse button.

Try the various links displayed on SchoolVote web pages. You can always press your web browser's Back (<) button to return to the previous page.

Do you know a well-qualified candidate? If so, why not write an endorsement? It's easy. Just print and complete this form and deliver it to the candidate. With your help, your classmates will be able to make better ballot choices.
